Get in touch

Squark Box is a small, independent project. If something sounds broken, or something on the faceplate is unclear, please get in touch, and say which device and host you are using.

It makes no sound

Squark Box loads switched off, so it never makes sound unasked. Press the round red POWER lamp under the name plate to start it. Once it is on, it plays by itself.

If the lamp is lit and it is still quiet, check the Volume knob and your host's channel level, or tap Dice for a new sound.

Finding the plugin in your host

  1. Open the Squark Box app once. The system only lists the plugin after its app has run.
  2. In your host, add Squark Box as an instrument, not an effect. It works in AUM and Live.

Live doesn't list it

In Live's Settings, open the Plug-Ins tab, make sure Audio Units are turned on, and press Rescan.

Does it take audio input?

No. Squark Box is an instrument and makes all of its own sound. It has no audio input and never uses the microphone.

Saving your sounds

When you save your host session, it saves Squark Box's knobs, cables, the four memories, and any wiring you edited on the screen. To keep a sound within a session, hold one of the four memory plates to store it, and tap the plate to bring it back.
